Hannah and Jakob

Hannah got to visit with her cousin Jakob this last weekend. Always a fun thing to do. Hannah and Jakob got to have a slumber party at Grandma Judy's house on Saturday night. When we asked Hannah, on Sunday, if she had a good time, she laughed and said yes, and then proceeded to tell us ALL that Grandma Judy and Grandpa Kevin let the two little monsters get away with. Tom and I were laughing on the way home as Hannah was trying to tell us, through her laughter, that they had dinner then hot chocolate in their jammies, popcorn and pizza and then went to bed. She was laughing and laughing. Apparently, they had pizza at 9pm and then headed off to bed. =) Boy did she think that was the funniest thing EVER. Grandma Judy joked that the kids would have to sign a confidentiality notice next time they stayed over. On Monday afternoon we all met at the Woodland Park Zoo. We enjoyed a picnic lunch in the meadow and the kids got to ride on the newly refurbished carousel. Jakob chose a horse that went up and down while Ms. Safety Pants chose to ride in the stationary sleigh type thingy. It was pretty funny. All afternoon the kids kept saying that they wanted to see the Giraffe and the Lions, so naturally, the Lion and the Giraffe were the last things we saw. Nothing like keeping two 2 year olds in suspense. =) On our way out of the Safari lookout, Jakob found a drum in one of the display areas. He and Hannah had fun banging on the drum and dancing in the center of the room. I think they could have stayed there most of the day and not even realized that there were animals all around them. I found it humorous that they kept looking up to the ceiling trying to figure out where the heck the dancing music was coming from. =)
Here are a few pictures of our zoo adventure.

Swing

Twice in one week...amazing, I know. =) I was pushing Hannah in her swing last night (her favorite thing to do these days) and I was amazed at just how big she getting. She's gotten to the point now where she has to hold her feet up so they don't drag on the ground. But it doesn't seem to bother her because she could stay in that swing all day long if I'd let her or should I say as long as I'll push her. So, I thought I would share some pictures of Hannah in her swing over the last 3 years and one of my favorite video clips of Hannah and her Papa Larry. What you're not seeing in the video clip is how FAST Papa can move at the end. =)

Tim, Faith and Fathers Day

I'm back! Last week was a big week for the Walker household. Thursday night Tom and I went down to Tacoma for the big Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert. Ahhhh, Tim McGraw! We had awesome seats, down on the floor just feet away from one of the side stages. I was a hand away from being "high-fived" by both Faith and Tim! It was a really good concert and as much as I would have preferred my Jen being with me, Tom suffered through nicely. I was a bit nervous about how he'd be at the concert after he didn't let me stalk Tim and Faith at the hotel. We stayed at the Sheraton in downtown Tacoma, and when we first pulled up there were 3 big tour buses parked out front. Clearly they were Tim and Faiths buses. I pretty much ran from the car to the hotel once I figured out it was them. Nothing like being an obvious fan right...I wanted to sit in the lobby and watch for them to come out of the hotel, but NO, Tom wanted to check in and take our bag up to the room. Darn him. When we came back down, not 10 minutes later, all the buses were gone. I'm certain that if Jen had been there with me, we would have been invited on the bus with them. =) Oh well, there's always next time right?

Ahhhh....Tim McGraw....

Yesterday was Father's Day and I think the dads all had a nice day. It was a pretty laid back day for us...for a holiday. We went to church, we got donuts at Henrys, came home and Tom took a LONG nap with Hannah and then we headed over to my parents house for dinner...KFC style! Hannah surprised her daddy with his very own Webkinz. It's a Cocker Spaniel lil'Kinz that Tom has named "Girly 2". =) For those of you who don't know what Webkinz are...they are little stuffed animals that are very hard to find. Each animal comes with a secret code that you enter in on the Webkinz website to access a virtual pet. It's quite the rage with kids in the 4-8 age group. My mom got Hannah one for Easter and Tom and I are taking care of it until Hannah understands. =) Aren't we nice parents. It's all pretty funny (funny / pathetic...it's all the same). Well, hopefully we'll have some nice weather this week so that we can get out and get more pictures. Happy Monday!

A day at the beach

We got to watch Madison and Jacob two weekends ago so that Beck and Rob could escape to Leavenworth, just the two of them. We were so thankful that the weather was nice...we got to spend a lot of time outside. On Saturday, rather than staying at home where our outdoor hose isn't working, we decided to go on an adventure and take the three of them to the beach. The kids had such a good time playing in the water, digging in the sand and exploring the beach with Tom. Tom even "wowed" them by catching two really ugly fish and a dead crab with only his little orange bucket. When it came time to eat lunch, Hannah had a really hard time grasping the concept that wet hands and sand don't mix well. We'd wash her hands off and before we could dry them she had already put them back in the sand. We went round and round with her on this. It finally got to the point where we just fed her sandwich to her - it was much easier that way! One day she'll get it. =) Here are a few pictures from our fun afternoon. Hugs and love to you all.
