3 months, Easter and everyday moments

Our little Emerson is officially 3 months old. It's crazy how time flies, even more so the second time around, I think. She's still a super happy baby, pretty mellow and she love, love, LOVES to watch her big sister. She's always got her eye on Hannah, following her every move. She perks up as soon as she hears her voice in the morning. It's really sweet. We were in the car yesterday on the way to my moms and Hannah informed me that I was no longer her best friend, shocked and a little saddened I asked who had taken my place, "Emerson is my new best friend"she told me. Made me smile - I just hope she'll always feel that way about her little sister, even though I'm certain she won't. A mom can always hope, right.

Our church had 5 Easter services and we decided to go to the Saturday night service, since our Sunday was going to be b.u.s.y. After church we decorated our Easter eggs. Hannah had fun coloring on the eggs. We were both a little disappointed when the crayon didn't stay on the egg, and yes, the eggs were cold. But that didn't stop us from having fun changing the colors of the eggs . =) While we were busy with the eggs, Emerson enjoyed being our honorary Bunny for the evening.

Easter morning we woke up early and had fun finding all the eggs that the Easter bunny had hid around our house. Hannah thought that it was pretty funny that the eggs were hidden in our house. Silly bunny!

We had to hurry and find all the eggs so that we could head out to my Aunt Joanne's house for Easter brunch. We had our traditional yummy sausages, eggs, fruit, pastries and prunes. I'm not sure who really eats the prunes but I have a feeling I know which table eats the most. =) After we ate, we debated on whether or not to go out and have the Egg hunt. It was absolutely POURING outside but the kids didn't seem to mind the rain. The picture of Karl makes me laugh, if you look closely you can see the rain coming down. Speaking of Karl, it's hard to believe that it's been just over a year since he received his new heart. YAY!!

This last picture from my aunts house pretty much sums up how we all left her house, stuffed!

After brunch we headed to Issaquah to Judy and Kevin's house for dinner. Judy made the most incredible ham I have ever eaten. It was so yummy. Hannah had an Easter basket to find and "oh my gosh" was all she could say when she saw the little Cabbage Patch Nursery. With all the little pieces we decided that it was a toy that should stay at Grandma Judys. We don't want Emerson to choke on any of those tiny pieces. =)

Then we left there with the thought of going home, but decided to stop by my moms house. My moms side of the family usually comes up from Seattle for Easter dinner and an Egg hunt. We missed the egg hunt but that was OK. Most importantly Emerson finally got to meet the rest of my cousins. I left my camera in the car and missed out on quite a few picture moments but by that time I was exhausted. As crazy as our day was I wouldn't trade it for the world. It was a fun crazy.

Aunt Becca, I mean cousin Madison, found a cute bunny hat and slippers that she just couldn't pass up. Emerson on the other hand could have done without. She cried as soon as I put the hat on, but she was sure cute!
I'll get scootin and leave you with a few random pictures from our house. I'm trying to do better about capturing the everyday moments - messy house and all.

Here's Hannah helping me with dinner. She was carefully cutting the apples . Don't you just love the outfit. =)

And then she had to wear a bib at dinner. She hasn't worn a bib in a really long time, but this particular night she thought it was a must - she didn't want to get her ballerina outfit dirty.

Hannah's shoe store - set up in Emmie's room - complete with Nordstroms balloons. Oh and she wanted me to also let you know that they have a good selection of books as well. =)

We're going roller skating tonight with our church. I think I might be a bit more excited than Hannah, although she's really excited. I'm sure I'll have a few pictures to post from that.
Happy 1st of April.

The bike and more...

Here are a few pictures of Hannah trying to learn how to ride her bike. I think Tom was getting a little bit frustrated with her lack of wanting to learn. She was way more interested in looking at the princesses on her bike and those cool sparkly strips hanging from the handlebars. =) He pushed her around the complex hoping she would get the hang of it, but the pedals wouldn't move unless she was pushing on them, so she wasn't able to feel how her feet needed to move.

These pictures were taken just after Valentines day and I'm happy to report that she's starting to get the hang of it. She has a "motorcycle" as she calls it that she can pedal just fine on, it seems to be just the bike we're having difficulties with. She'll get it soon enough. I'm hoping that she gets it by the time the weather starts to warm up so that we can go for bike rides along the centennial trail. We'll just have to invest in one of those trailers that hooks onto the back of a bike for Emmie.

And speaking of Miss Emerson, she's such a sweet and happy little baby. At her 2 month appointment she weighed in at 10 pounds 9 ounces. I had to laugh because Tom thought she was going to be 9 lbs 3 oz and he laughed at my prediciton of over 10 pounds. =) Boy did she show us. She's in the 50 percentile for her weight and 40 for length, at 22 inches. She's doing so well, she let out her first little giggle the other night (3/13). So, so, sweet. I'll have to try and get a little video clip for you all. If only I could edit out my goofy sounds and voices that it takes to get that sweet little giggle. =)

Lets see, what else have we missed. Tom had a birthday, number 32 to be exact. Our friends Jen and Ed came over for a few days. I'm surprised that I managed to keep the secret from Tom. They showed up at his office with donuts from Yoke's (his favorite) and totally surprised him. Hannah and Emerson enjoyed all the love they got from their Auntie Jen and Auntie Eddie, as Hannah called him. It was wonderful birthday surprise for us all - we hadn't seen them since we were over in Spokane for Hunter's birthday in October.

This is the best picture we could get of the 4 of them. =)

Well, I can't seem to think of anything more that I've missed and I need to get working on Emerson's birth announcements (yikes, she'll be 3 months next week!). I've got a few more pictures to share and another comparison of Hannah and Emerson. So I'll leave you with that. Hugs from us all!
