Sunday

We’re here. We’re alive.  Sick but alive.  Emerson is down for the count with a fever and a nasty cough.  Hannah has a cough that won’t go away and I’ve got a sore throat.  I’m hoping will be done with this crud fast.  Somehow, I’m not sure how, but Tom has managed to stay clear of the sickies.  I haven’t taken any pictures other than my POTD (picture of the day) because we really haven’t done much of anything worth mentioning.  Just everyday life.  The very few pictures I do have are from a quick trip to Issaquah last Sunday.  Rich, Leina & boys were in town for the weekend so we went down for dinner. Baby Alex was there and as cute as can be...the pictures I have of him are blurry…he’s a mover now and I’m not a professional photographer.  :)  Hannah and Jakob had fun playing their DS’s.  (Total side track here, but as I type this I’m watching/listening Days of Our Lives…who ARE all these new people?) Anyway…back to Sunday.  The kids sat at the first ever kids table at Grandma Judy’s.  That didn’t work so well.  Emerson was up every other bite to tell me what the big kids were doing and Hannah kept coming over saying she didn’t want her green beans, she wanted more chicken.  It’ll get better, I’m sure of that, but for now, they just weren’t getting it.  :)  Life isn’t complete without the joys of the kids table, right?!

I saw this face a lot on Sunday.  Not sure what was up with that but can he get any cuter?!?Trying to keep up with the big kids. Oh my goodness. I can’t get enough of him!The chicken…with a can of beer…you get the idea.  It was pretty good, just REALLY strange to see when you’re not expecting it.  Just thought I’d share that strange moment with you all.Apparently, Alex loves hats, he just hasn’t grown into that Walker head.And the big kids.  They didn’t play ALL  night long, just most of the night.  :)

It’s back!

In case you were concerned I wouldn’t be doing the Project Life/Project 365 this year, no need to be concerned…I’m continuing on.  It seems that is the only “scrapbooking” I have time for.  You can click on the butterfly to the right and it’ll take you right to my 2011 pictures.  :) Yay!

Princess Emerson

Just wanted to share some pictures of Emmie and her new princess ensemble.    We got the Ultimate Princess Kit from our neighbor who happened to get two of them for Christmas.  Talk about one excited little girl.  Of all the “treasures” in the kit, she was most excited to have earrings just like her sister.  :)

We went to the zoo today.  It was cold.  It was really, really cold.  Not typically your go to the zoo weather, but the sun was out and it really was a beautiful day.  Kellie, Mark and their kids were in town doing the Seattle touristy thing along celebrating the New Year at the Space Needle.  One of their many stops was the zoo.  We never pass up an opportunity to go to the zoo so we joined in on the fun.The bird station is seriously one of my favorite things to do.  Jesse and Brook thought it was pretty cool too. Emmie even let Uncle Mark hold her.  Anything to get her closer to the birds, right?!The Sloth Bear came when Mark called it.  He’s the guy to have around at the zoo. :)Emmie really wanted to see the turtles.  I laughed when she told me to take this picture and “send it to her”.  So, I took the picture and then sent it to her.  She thanked me. :)The flowers in the tropical rain forest were so pretty.I can’t remember if it was Brittney or Brook that took this picture.  I think they did a mighty fine job.The flamingos…always a crowd pleaser. I picked up some chips and a bottle water to help get us through the rest of the park. $7.42 was the grand total.  I could NOT believe that.  It wasn’t like it was even a big bottle of water.  Sheesh.  I did appreciate Emerson’s effort to clean the entire bag out before she fell asleep.  Poor thing had her eyes closed and was still reaching into the bag pulling chips out and putting them in her mouth.  She wasn’t going to let the bag go to waste.  :)All the kids – we were a serious crowd making our way through the zoo. So much fun.

I think it was a good thing it wasn’t a busy day at the zoo.  :) Thanks Willms family for inviting us along.  Wouldn’t have missed it for anything!

The last of the presents

We celebrated the last of our Christmases last week.  Grandma Judy and Grandpa Kevin went over to Spokane this Christmas so we missed out on seeing them on Christmas day.  The girls went down a few days before we celebrated to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa.  I laugh because they cry when they have to go, but when we pick them up they’re crying to stay.  Kids.  :)

I wonder why I can’t ever get “normal” smiles from my girls…Aunt Kim gave Emerson a Story Book Pillow.  She loved it!!  Aunt Kim also got her a stuffed horse that she can color over and over again.  Now, I just need to stress to her that she can only color on the horse!Aunt Kim gave Hannah this really cute bead kit and some super cute pedicure slippers.  As Hannah says “Aunt Kim knows me!”  :)I was hoping for a  picture of the girls with Grandma and Grandpa but someone just didn’t want her picture taken...

And with that last picture, Christmas 2010 is officially over and I’m a little relieved!

It happened yesterday.   Yesterday I noticed that my baby is slowly growing up.  I don’t want her to grow up or should I say I’m not ready for her to grow up.  I knew that this day would come.  I just wasn’t prepared for it to be so soon after she turned 3.  So, what was it that made me take notice of my little girl growing up??  Emerson said to me “Mom, I’m hun-gry”  and not “Mom, I hungie”.  That one simple little word changed my day and made me one sad mama! Funny how one word can have such an impact on a mom.  :)

I knew she would go and grow up on me which is why I am so thankful that I had Rob take pictures of her last summer.  You know, when she was still a baby and used words like “hungie”  :)
