Day 2

Day two and I'm still going strong. I'm trying to remember to write down exactly what we did and the funny things that were said and heard. I think I'll try leaving a word document open on the computer so whenever I have a spare moment I can get it down. It's a fun little project that I hope will help us remember our ordinary everyday moments. Here's day 2, bear with us.

Tuesday September 30 2008
1. 5:30 Alarm goes off. Hit snooze several times.
2. 6:30 Got up and in shower.
3. Came downstairs, started water for coffee, took cover off couch to wash.
4. 7:30 get breakfast ready for Hannah, blueberry waffle with syrup.
5. See Tom off with a kiss
6. Check email – upload yesterday’s pictures to computer
7. Nonnie arrives with Cameron to help with the girls so I can work.
8. 8:40 scramble around the house looking for Hannah’s shoes for school. Need to leave by 8:50 to get her there on time.
9. Drop Hannah off at school. Show Nonnie her classroom.
10. Head to Starbucks – Grande Vanilla Non-fat No foam Latte. No pumpkin scones so we head to Haggens to get bagels.
11. Came home and laughed at the giant (Cameron) sleeping on our teeny-tiny couch.
12. Emerson plays with Nonnie while I cropped pictures and fixed red eyes.
13. Emerson tries eating Nonnie’s toes. Fix her oatmeal and bananas – much better than toes.
14. Mom and I laugh at Emerson drinking her bottle. She was sticking her tongue out SO far and making funny, yet odd sounds. What a nut.
15. Pick Hannah up from school – got there early so I could sneak pictures from the outside looking in.
16. Go to Target – pick up sippy cup for Em – leave there with 3 bags
17. Hannah & Nonnie discover the $1 section and pick up Halloween bowls, one has a spider in it and Hannah informed me that she was going to “freak daddy out with it”.
18. Lunch – toasted cheese for me, peanut butter and pickle for Hannah and Nonnie
19. Work – listen to the girls play with Nonnie. Hannah cracks us up by asking Nonnie if she has any crap for her, meaning “crafts”. =) Lost it!
20. Nonnie and Cameron leave, Emerson freaks out, go for a walk to try and calm her down, no such luck. Walk down street with crying baby. =)
21. Get to school and Hannah runs free. She tries to cross the “floating cupcakes” but gets stuck in the middle. 1,2,3 go, we say this over and over and over again until she finally falls off and laughs.
22. Come home with two tired girls – nap time!
23. Daddy’s home – pork chops, potatoes and green beans for dinner along with a game of Cribbage (I won).
24. Hannah is still asleep for dinner but wakes up in time for Daddy to go to store for dessert – popsicles.
25. More work for me
26. Tom and the girls watch Biggest Loser and then crash on the couch.
27. 12:45am take 3 sleeping beauties up to bed after a long night working.

A week at the Walkers - Day 1

So, in all of my spare time (Ha!) I'm going to try my hardest to participate in this Ali Edwards - A Week in the Life - project (click the word project to take you the project link) I've been wanting to do something like this for a while now, so why not start now. =) The hard part for me will most definitely be the putting together of the scrapbook and actually finding the time to do so. The taking of the pictures - piece of cake. =) So...here are some pictures from our first day of the "a week in the life" of us.

Looonnngg weekend

Wow, what a busy weekend. Friday night we headed down to Lacey for Tom's cousin Joel's wedding. The girls and I picked Tom up at work and headed down early. Rewind. Our morning started off busy, we had to finish packing for our trip, get the girls dressed and out of the house so that we could take Tom to work. After we dropped him off at work, we went to Target to pick up a belt, then to Starbucks and then to my parents house to hang out before the girls' doctors appointments. Hannah was up first. She is 41 pounds and 41 inches tall...90th percent for both! Emerson was next and she weighed in at 17 pounds and 27.5 inches. She's 25% for weight and 50% for height. She didn't have any shots but she did have to have her toe pricked to test for anemia. Her levels were a little low, so the Dr gave us a prescription for an iron supplement. She has two teeth on bottom and she's working really hard on her top two. One is through and the other is soooo close. After the appointments we went to the bank and then to Subway to get lunch. All that before 11:30, phew! We picked Tom up and were on the road before 12:30. I was not chancing us sitting in traffic on a Friday night. We got to the hotel in Lacey about 2:30 and Tom and Hannah went swimming while Emerson and I hung out (rested). Hannah is a jumping in the pool fool these days. She was cracking me up with her eagerness to jump and go under water. Crazy. The wedding was at 6 at the Lacey community center. What a beautiful night it turned out to be. Joel and Pamalee are such a beautiful couple. I was a bit nervous for Joel, I heard through the family vine that he spent most of Friday morning/afternoon sick. Poor guy. You never would have guessed it by looking at him during the wedding. The reception was fun, there was lots of yummy food. Hannah and Jakob had fun dancing. I thought Hannah had some moves, turns out Jakob is a dancing fool. He had some serious moves for only being 3 almost 4. What a crack up those two are. =)

Saturday morning after some quality swim time, we went to Fox Island to Tom's aunt and uncles house for brunch. I fell in love with their house and all of the fruit trees, flowers and just the quietness of it all. What a peaceful place. Tom's uncle Doug built a really cool wooden swing for his aunt and I could have sat there all day. We enjoyed our afternoon visiting with family and friends and then it was off to my sisters birthday dinner...but not before the all of the girls napped in the car. =)

Hannah was so excited...we got Aunt Susie her very first Webkinz. Hannah just knew that she would LOVE the polar bear. =) I wonder what she named it and if she enjoys Webkinz world as much as Becky and I do. =) By the time we got home we were all exhausted and very happy to be sleeping in our own beds.

Sunday we went to church. We're still having a hard time adjusting to the new, 15 minutes earlier, service. What a difference 15 minutes makes in the morning. After church we went over to Becky's house and her and I went to work in Redmond while Tom stayed there with the kids. All. 4. kids. Thankfully, Caitlin came over to give him a little help. I think he was a little nervous having Emerson to himself for longer than a few minutes. There are only 4 more days until this project needs to be done and unfortunately there is more than 4 days worth of work. I have a feeling I'll be working some long nights this week and then going in again next Saturday. Yay...=) Well, I'll wrap up this extremely long post...if you've made it this far...way to go. =)

Katrina & Mike

Katrina and Mike were married last Saturday (9/20). It was a beautiful wedding and a pretty fun reception. I got to watch the ceremony from the back of the church while Emerson crawled around, but that was ok. It's nice to look right down the aisle and not through someone elses head. I think Hannah did ok during the wedding - I couldn't hear her. =) We brought her a sticker book to work on but I'm not sure how much stickering actually got done. The reception was at Salty's on Alki. Such a beautiful location. It's nice to see the Seattle city skyline from a differnt view. Just wish the weather had been a tad nicer. But it's always a beautiful day for a wedding, in my opinion. =) We all had lots of fun dancing but it seemed like there were an awful lot of Bielsers dancing...and not many others. It turns out that Hannah is quite the dancer - if only we could keep her from flashing her unders to everyone. We'll have to work on that before the next wedding...in two days. yikes.

The missing bagel...

They're a bit blurry, but you get the idea. Emerson thought she was SO funny. We had just dropped Hannah off at school and I was at the computer and Emerson was quiet, too quiet, except for the occasional "hu-hu". I peeked into the TV room and found that Emerson had gotten a hold of Hannah's bagel. She thought it was the greatest. That'll teach Hannah for leaving her food out. =)

Who could take a bagel away from that face? =)
