Eggs!

Friday we headed over the mountains for Easter.  With Easter being so late this year we were actually able to spend a holiday with Tom’s side of the family.  I can’t remember when we were over there last but it’s been a while.

We stopped at the Pohl’s house for the night.  I had asked Jen earlier on in the week if she would mind if we dyed eggs when we got there.  I knew that our week would be too crazy to try and get it done ahead of time and besides, who wants to travel across the state with hard boiled eggs in the trunk.  :) 

The girls, especially Hannah, were happy to see Grace this time around.  She was in Washington DC when we were there for spring break.The Walker “thinking” tongue found it’s way out.  Love this picture of the two of them together.  Thank you Hunter for capturing it for me. :)Inspecting the mess she made on her hands.When I mixed the egg dyes I was trying to get the “bright” colors but something went wrong because those are not bright colors.  I think I’ll leave the color mixing up to someone else next year.  I obviously had a hard time following directions. :)After all the egg coloring fun we had cake and ice cream to celebrate Jen’s big birthday.  It was a great end to a long week.

Crazy Hair

Last Friday was crazy hair day at school.  Hannah had very specific requests for her hair.  I was proud of her for letting me make the top two stand up.  It was definitely out of her comfort zone but she went with it anyway.  Had to have a jumping picture with her crazy hair. :)

I picked her up from school and we barely were out of the parking lot and she had already taken her hair out.  She didn’t want to drive to Spokane with her crazy hair.  That would have been too crazy.

2 years ago

Two years ago on the 17th we lost Grammy Na and I can honestly say that not a day goes by that I don’t think of her and miss her.  As I sat in church on the anniversary of her death, I was once again reminded of her as we sang “How Great Thou Art”.  I have to admit that my eyes got more than a little sweaty. :)  It’s reminders like that that help me to know that she is watching over us.  So, after church the girls and I went and got some flowers to take to her grave.  Hannah enjoys going there with me; I’m not sure why but she does. :) 

These poor ducks.  Trying to enjoy a Sunday swim in the sun until Emmie showed up.It was her mission to try and capture one of them.  She got pretty close to this one and then it had to take off.  Not sure if you can see it but if you look closely to the left of Emmie, you can see it taking off.  :) 

She was not impressed with the fact that it could fly!  She had Hannah and I laughing pretty hard with her disgust over not catching one.  “Next time” she says.  :)

Play date

Saturday we got to have a play date with Owen.  My girls love Owen!  We had hoped the weather would have been as nice as Friday but we weren’t that lucky.  We did luck out in that it didn’t rain on us and we were able to spend most of the day outside.

The bubbles didn’t last long.  Poor Eeyore has seen better days. The lilac bush that we gave my mom for Mother’s day a few years ago is finally blooming.  I can’t wait for it to be in full bloom, it’s going to be so pretty!We rode bikes.Played with chalk.I love Spring!We came in to warm up, have lunch and do a little car racing.  Can you guess which car is Hannah’s?  ;)This is my wild child. She gives me gray hair.Owen likes super under dogs, or as we called them super under penguins!Gordie is putting in some new street lamps - the kids had fun jumping in and out of the holes.  :)

It was a fun day outside and it really left me wanting the real Spring to hurry up and get here!  We are ready!

Children’s Museum

Since we didn’t make it to the Children’s museum in Spokane, I promised Hannah that I would take her on Friday to the one at home.  So, Friday morning we headed out.  It was a beautiful day outside and I wasn’t too thrilled about spending it indoors.  Thankfully, we ran into some friends and spent the afternoon outside on the roof playground playing and chatting.  It was so beautiful…I even got a little sunburn.  The first of the season.  Yay me.  :)  Emerson getting her hair “did” by her sister…Emerson is getting good at her cutting skills….She managed to chop that little piece of paper into a billion little onesHannah’s one-eared bunny…The big slide.  This is the girl who made her sister go down first, so she’d know it was ok.  I think she’s got her big sister roles confused.  Emmie pretty much spent the afternoon climbing the tree house and going down the slide.  She loved it!Could my girls be any more different?  I tell them to go pick out their clothes to wear, Hannah comes back with a dress and leggings and Emmie, her sweatshirt and jeans.  :)

Maybe I’ll skip the fighting over clothes stage when they’re older??  :)  Wishful thinking, I know!

Home

The last day of our Spring break vacation and we woke up to this…Snow.  I was less than impressed that we didn’t have better weather.  But, really that’s ok because what does matter was the time (even if it was short) with our family and friends.  We headed out around 10 and met up with Jen for coffee.  We had met the day before to take the kids to the Children’s museum but we took a little too much time eating our lunch and didn’t make it to the museum.  Oh well.  We had fun with Auntie Jen regardless.  I meant to take a picture at lunch of the girls with her but totally forgot.  With that being said, I remembered at coffee that I wanted a picture but she claimed she was NOT having her picture taken.  I believe her words were “I’m too skuzzy” or something along those lines, but I thought she looked fine.  When we left at noon it was snow/hailing pretty good.  It looked like little Styrofoam balls falling from the sky.  It was crazy.  I laughed as we got further away from Spokane, it got prettier and prettier.  Pretty blue sky and big puffy white clouds.  Go figure!

It really was an uneventful trip home with only one stop in Ellensburg.  I’m certain the girls were as focused as I was on getting home to see Tom.  We met up with him at 4:30 and went and had an early dinner.  Oh they were to happy little girls!

We had a wonderful little trip for Spring break but I’m happy to be back at home with Tom.  Only 10 more days until this tax season is d.o.n.e done!

Nana’s birthday lunch

We met up with Aunt Kim, Aunt Robin, Little Kenny and Brady for a birthday lunch for Nana.  One would think I’d have more pictures of Nana on her birthday but I don’t.  At breakfast we were talking about Aunt Kim and I realized that I don’t have many pictures of her or her with the girls so that was my mission today.  Oh these three they made me laugh!Finally!  :)As if those three weren’t enough, little Kenny decided that his brother, Brady, needed to wear Hannah’s coat.  Seriously, these boys crack me up! 

After lunch we went to visit Aunt Jackie and her fish.  Aunt Jackie lives on Mt. Spokane and I think when we come back sometime this summer I need to convince Tom that we need to move here.  What a beautiful place!  Emmie LOVED the fish.  I had a hard time getting her to stay inside and out of the pond.As we were leaving their house I had to stop and take a picture.
