The last of the birthday pictures, I promise!

I just have to say that Hannah wouldn't have had a fun fairy party if it weren't for my wonderful sister. Becky is seriously THE best party planner. With all that has happened at our house this month I barely had any time to plan her party, and that's where Becky stepped up to the plate and did it all for me. I owe her big! It was everything Hannah wanted and more. I'll try not to bore you with too many pictures, I mean really, how many different party pictures does one need to post? =)

She's ready for presents! Note to self: work on being a gracious gift receiver before Christmas. Talk about embarrassing the mom! Sheesh!
She was laughing SO hard at a card she had tears. She is definitely my daughter. What was the so funny about the card you ask? It was a frog ribbiting happy birthday. I wish I had video of that one. She's such a silly girl.

We got Hannah the 3-D Wii game Toy Story Mania which is just like the ride at California Adventure. It was really hard for Tom and I to not open it before we gave it to her. It's a really fun game but it makes us miss Disneyland. Notice all the 3-D glasses...someone "collects" them from each 3-D movie they go to. hee hee

We take our game playing VERY seriously. =)
OK, phhew. We're done with the birthday pictures. Woo-Hoo. Have a great rest of the week!

The Fun Run

I didn't realize how much I would love living next to the school until last Friday. The school had their first (of many, I'm sure) fundraisers - a Fun Run. Hannah was SO excited, but really when isn't she excited about anything and everything school related. =) I had an eye appointment that afternoon but I was able to rush home just in time to see the Kindergartners take the track. Seriously they are THE cutest things ever and I'm so happy I was able to watch! I hung two signs for Hannah and created her own personal cheering station. I'm pretty sure that this will be the only year I'll be able to get away with doing that without totally embarrassing her. She was so cute running/walking/talking with her friends as they made their way around the track.
That's Hannah's teacher on the unicycle. How cool is he?!?

I got a good laugh when I had her call my parents to ask for a donation. When my mom asked how much she thought about it for a second and then said "a million dollars?". There's nothing wrong with shooting for the stars, right? =)

I thought I'd be able to get better pictures but apparently all of the spiders in Lake Stevens have decided to make our fence line their home. I have never been so grossed out in my entire life. YUCK. I'm sure our neighbors got a good laugh watching me trying to take pictures while dancing around avoiding the creepy crawlies! And that there is why I only have 3 pictures. =)

Ocean Party #2

I seriously couldn't get over the beautiful weather we had at the ocean. It was warm and hardly even a breeze, simply perfect, if you ask me. Here are a few pictures from Sunday.

I apologize for the poor picture quality, it was from Tom's phone and I zoomed in. We could NOT keep this little girl out of the water, not even the freezing water temperature kept her out. Not to mention our inability to keep her clothes on. =) I think these two were practicing a little yoga.
Our singing must have been horrible, she kept putting her fingers in her ears. We must not have been as good as Nana, because she didn't do that for her.

I know, I know, but seriously how cute are those shoes. =)
Our big 5 year old, who still says to me "I just can't believe that I'm 5". Trust me, neither can I.

We have the last of her birthday celebrations today. It's her fairy party and boy is she excited!! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Ocean party #1

Kevin's dad, Dick, turned 80 last weekend and we had a birthday party for him at the Ocean on Saturday. We really couldn't have asked for better weather. In fact, I was prepared for rain, since that is what Weather.com had said to expect. We enjoyed the sun and the warm weather, because we know that it won't be like this for much longer. =)
Jacob showed off his scooter tricks on the way to the beach.
No, it wasn't really warm enough to be IN the water, but I haven't figured out how to keep them out.Little Miss Daredevil. She loves the water!!!I love the look on Jakob's face. The kids had fun chasing Uncle Doug. We weren't sure who was having more fun, the kids or Uncle Doug. =)Snuggle time with Aunt Kim.Present time...Emmie wouldn't get much closer than that. At least she smiled.Kevin & his DadHappy Birthday Grandpa Dick! We love you.

Happy Thursday!

Just a couple random pictures to hopefully bring a smile to your Thursday.

Emerson thought she was so sneaky...finding my mom's bottle of diet Pepsi and sneaking a drink. =) She must have tried 5 times, with no avail. Go figure!

Hannah was most excited to meet her teacher, the day before school. She's a serious cheerleader wannabe. Can you tell?

Labor Day

We spent Labor day up in Arlington at Aunt Roberta and Uncle Bill's house. It was more like a birthday/anniversary/going away party. Grammy Jo celebrated her 91st birthday, Landon turned 30, Aunt Mimi & Uncle Ralph celebrated a 40th Wedding Anniversary and Aunt Karlene & Uncle Art were heading back home to Ohio the next day. It was a fun afternoon, one I won't forget. =) Here's a little recap.
There was lots of jumping on the trampoline...Tonk playing...

Off-roading with some CrAzY drivers...Lots of celebrating...a wonderful woman turned 91...
A 30th birthday...A happy couple...
Lots of chatting...
Lots of cake...
And lots of frosting...
That all ended too early with a trip to the Emergency Room for me. Who knew Kickball was a contact sport. =)

I felt REALLY bad that I didn't get to say goodbye to Aunt Karlene & Uncle Art before they headed home. Even more so that I didn't get a picture of us with them. I guess I'll have to wait until next year and hope that they make the trip back out. =)

The new Mr & Mrs Carlson

September 5 was the wedding reception for my cousin Jeff and his bride Melissa. Jeff and Melissa were married on a beach in Hawaii on August 29. We were sad we couldn't be there at their wedding but happy we could celebrate at the reception. They are a beautiful couple and we wish them many years of happiness. Congratulations Jeff & Melissa!

They had a great cut out that made for some pretty funny pictures. Good times, good times.

Emmie and her mystery man...=)We did LOTS of dancing. Hannah worked on her signature move. I thought I had a video of it but Tom's phone ran out of battery about 3 seconds in. I'll have to see if she'll do it for me again. It's a blog worthy dance move. =)

Sevi, Spencer, Madison, Jake, Hannah & Brittany.
It was a really nice reception. It's always fun to get together as a family. The highlight of the night was that we got to take home the table centerpieces...goldfish. I wasn't going to be a nice mom but when I found out that EVERYONE was taking them home, I had to cave. I do feel lucky that we only brought home 4. My sister went home with 8, and my aunt Julie with 7. Fun times ahead, I'm sure.
