Football

Earlier this month there was a drawing at work for 2 tickets to a Seahawks game.  I put my name in the drawing knowing full well that I wouldn’t win..I never win…I couldn’t win because we already had plans for that day, but I thought, hey, why not?!  Guess who won.  I called Tom and told him the good news and he immediately asked where the seats were.  I told him that they would probably be OK seats because they were coming from one of our vendors.  We both about fell off our chairs when these bad boys came in the mail.  09-30-11I could not believe the price per ticket…$295. Crazy!  I enjoy football but I don’t love football and as soon as I got them I told Tom that I wish Eddie was here to enjoy the seats with him.  I was certain I wouldn’t appreciate them as much as I should.

Why I didn’t take my camera, I don’t know. Thank goodness for fancy cell phones these days. Football (1)We got down there early enough to enjoy the band…I think they’re called Blue Thunder or something like that. I don’t know but they were groovin’!Football (4)I was happy to see my favorite sporting event treat…garlic fries. Yum.Football (5)These guys are everywhere.Football (6)This was the view from our seats…no zoom.  Football (9)To say that Tom was happy was a total understatement!Football (10)Football (12)We laughed at the amount of space between his seat and mine.  It was even funnier when you saw how close the guy sitting on the other side of him was.  We tried to pull the seats together but they wouldn’t budge.Football (15)It was a fun experience to say the least.  I know everyone always talks about how loud it is there, but oh.my.gosh.  I didn’t know that kind of loud existed.  It was insane.  With the distance between Tom and I and the loudness of the stadium it was impossible for Tom and I to have a conversation….which I’m sure he was ok with.  :)  I’m afraid I asked a lot of questions.Football (17)

The Seahawks didn’t beat the Falcons but they made it a close game in the 4th quarter.  I think the final score was 28-30.  It was a fun afternoon and I’m glad I put my name in the drawing and I’m glad that Grandma Judy & Grandpa Kevin were able to take the girls to their birthday party for us.  Thank you!

The Friend Party

Hannah’s friend party was at Ben Franklin in Monroe.  They have this great big room upstairs that you can reserve for parties.  Hannah got to choose a craft and then they have a teacher that comes and leads the party and cleans up.  Very easy for the Mama.  :)

Hannah chose to paint a flower mirror.  It was a hit, but the girls were speedy.  I think they were all done within 20 minutes.  I’m not sure what I was thinking but I didn’t plan too well, because we were left with lots of time in the room with nothing to do.  :)  Thankfully, one of the moms stuck around and helped entertain the girls with old school party games.  Friend (4)Friend (5)Friend (6)Leatha, Ella, Hanna, Sophie, Shae, Emerson, Mackenzie, Hannah, Mimi & Quinn.  Friend (19)The masterpieces…Friend (12)One more wish for the birthday girl. :)Friend (22)Friend (23)

And with that last birthday wish of 2011, we end our month of celebrating Hannah.  She did pretty good if you ask me. :)

Postcards

This picture was taken on 9/20/11 and there are 54 postcards on the table from 25 different states!  This was one of the best projects ever.  I am so thankful for all of you who solicited help from friends in other states.  We received a good chunk of postcards from people we didn’t even know.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  SO fun.

Postcards (2)

We’ve received 4 more postcards since then and I hear we have 6 more on the way from a gal at work.  So cool.

The family party…

Hannah had her family party at Aunt Becca’s house again this year.  She didn’t want a themed party which is just as well with me.  It makes me happy to know that this party is the one party she looked forward to most. This was the first year we’ve done a friend party (that’s coming up in a few posts) and I can honestly say that she would have been just fine without one.  She associates birthday’s with family and that is fine with me! :)

Party 1 (3)We had all of Hannah’s favorites there to nibble on before we got to the big spaghetti dinner. :)Party 1 (4)Despite the look on her face she was having fun with her cousins.  We lucked out in that it didn’t rain until after the party.Party 1 (5)Ethan was there showing off his cuteness.  Party 1 (6)Present time.  Party 1 (7)She got all sorts of fun gifts, board games, clothes, Disney gift cards and…Party 1 (11)candy lips.  :)Party 1 (15)Party 1 (19)The girl cousins being silly…Party 1 (22)and “normal”.  :)Party 1 (23)Party 1 (27)Wish big!Party 1 (30)Who doesn’t love ice cream cake?!?  So good!Party 1 (31)Party 1 (33)

Seven

My little girl is 7 and I can’t believe it!

Tom went to the store before the girls woke up to get breakfast, balloons and a coffee for me. :)  Apparently I spend too much time at Starbucks because he came home with a birthday treat for Hannah as well. I do love my Starbucks ladies! They gave her a vanilla bean scone, which Emmie ate while Hannah was at school…can you guess who wasn’t happy after school??  7! (1)7! (9)Such a happy girl today.  7!
