She’s a bike rider now…

This is one of those videos that is best viewed with your sound OFF.  I’m talking, and the girls are bickering.  Just everyday life for me, but you all don’t need to hear it.  :)  Last week, Emmie decided that she was ready to try riding Hannah’s old bike.  At first she was convinced she couldn’t do it, but with a little unwanted help from her sister she did it and was off.  We are SO proud of our little monkey!  Yesterday she rode around the track at the school 2 times all by herself!  Way to go Emerson!

There’s a new ER in town

Aunt Susie has a new job.  Swedish hospital has opened up a new ER only facility in Mill Creek.  It actually took over the property where the Puget Park Drive-in used to be.  In fact, they tore that down and built this new beautiful building in 9 short months.  Not sure I’ve seen a building go up that fast.  They are set to open for “business” on Wednesday but they had an open house for the public on Saturday.  We were there when they opened the doors at 10 and had a good time exploring the new facility.  We invited Kira, Mimi and baby Violet to come along and we all had a good time!

IMG_2598These girls make me laugh with their funny no teeth smiles.IMG_2596IMG_2597There was face painting, cookie decorating, crafts, silly bands, yo-yo’s, soccer scarves, first aid kits and firemen. IMG_2604IMG_2605A few of the featured firemen from the 2011 calendar where there signing autographs.  Susie got in line for me, it was nice of her to suffer through that line  for me while I was over decorating cookies.  Here they are with Mr. July…I’m sure he has a real name, but that’s much more fun to say.  Now, I have to figure out where to display my new calendar.  :)IMG_2607Emmie was a bit overwhelmed with all the people but she loved the windows and the fire trucks.IMG_2609Kids could bring their stuffed animals to have them seen by a nurse.  Hannah’s needed a check up.  Emmie took hers in because she bit his arm.  The nurse made sure he was ok and then bandaged his arm up.  Mimi’s fell down the stairs.  The nurses were a little concerned because they had seen lots of bears who had fallen down the stairs.IMG_2611The older girls (Emmie did NOT want to participate) got their fingers wrapped in a cast which they got to decorate once it was dry.  I told them they should put them on and freak their daddy’s out when they got home.IMG_2612IMG_2613After the tour inside, we went out and toured the many fire trucks that were there.  Emmie would go on them as long as the firemen didn’t actually talk to her.  As soon as they said anything to her she got shy and didn’t want to participate.  When they looked away, she let me lift her up.  Such a funny little girl, I wonder where she gets that behavior from....IMG_2616IMG_2619Hee hee…IMG_2621IMG_2624

We were there an hour and a half and I’m glad we got there when we did because it was getting pretty crowded by the time we left.  I told Susie that I hope we don’t have to visit this beautiful facility unless it’s because we’re bringing her goodies.  :)

A little sunshine

It has been so beautiful the last couple of days, cold, but beautiful!  Emmie decided that she wanted to go out and swing despite the cold.  She was so proud of herself swinging all on her own. IMG_2591She put her shoes on all by herself as well… :)IMG_2592IMG_2593IMG_2594

She stayed out for maybe 10 minutes before she decided she was too cold and came inside.  I think we’re ready for Spring at our house.

Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday was spent at the Henry house.  We kind of felt like we needed to have a get together because it was the big game and all, but as it turned out no one really cared about the game.  In any case, it was a good excuse to get together with the family.  I told Mom that I hadn’t seen Susan since Christmas…Christmas!  Entirely too long.  The only real excitement seemed to be the score at the end of each quarter.  Aunt Roberta’s football pool was what seemed to keep everyone watching the game. :)  It was a strange day.  :)

Emmie had fun dunking her Cheetos in her pop.  Apparently, that’s a good combo. I didn’t try it.Super ( (1)Super ( (2)The bigger kids spent most of their time upstairs playing the Wii with the occasional trip downstairs for food and no, regardless of what you want to think, that is NOT Madison’s beer.  :)Super ( (4)Chili, meatball sandwiches, potato skins, bacon wrapped weenies with brown sugar, bruschetta, chips, rotel, fruit and red velvet cupcakes were the nibbling's of choice this year.Super ( (5)My mom won $125.  It would have been mine if the quarter ended 39 seconds earlier. Grrr…Super ( (6)Josh, Caitlin and Susie “enjoying” the game…Super ( (7)Spencie and Brenda…Super ( (8)

In my opinion the most exciting part of the day when Hannah lost her tooth…we’ve been waiting and waiting for that to happen.  A piece of her hair got in her mouth and when she quickly brushed it out it took the tooth with it.  She was pretty surprised seeing as though she didn’t mean for it to happen, but thank goodness it did, it was looking pretty gnarly.  :)Super ( (10)And that was it.  The food was good, the company was great, the game was so-so and the commercials were disappointing.  A pretty uneventful Super Bowl party.  No winnings for me and Hannah lost her tooth.  Maybe next year it’ll be a little more exciting.

For Auntie Jen

Thank you for getting Emmie a harmonica.  :)

Song for Aunt Jen
I’m sure you’ll want to listen to it over and over and over and over again.  :)
