More on the way...eventually.

I mentioned before that we had a busy weekend a few weekends ago, well I'm back with pictures. Our busy day started out with us touring Holland Americas ms Oosterdam. Right now it's based out of Seattle and makes a 7 day trip up to Alaska and back. Oh what fun. I've never been on a cruise ship and before the tour never imagined me really wanting to go on one. But I can tell you now, I want to go! Preferably to someplace nice and warm. Tom and I both mentioned that it would be lots of fun to go with Jen and Eddie and that we foresee many a cruises with the Pohls. As we walked by all the food "stations" Tom said that he had a great idea...He and Eddie could have a competition to see who could eat the most while onboard. He has it all planned out right down to the scale they would step on right before they board. Leave it to my husband to be thinking about food. =) And, thinking about it now, I think Jen and I should see how much time we can spend in the Spa. =) Towards the end of the tour we got to have lunch at the main resturant. Tom had the fillet Mignon and I enjoyed yummy salmon and then the dessert, oh boy, the dessert was y.u.m.m.y. At first I thought, oh it's too pretty to eat. I got over that and boy did I enjoy it. Scrumptious! I can definitely see why people gain weight on cruises.

After the tour we headed back to Lake Stevens for Spencer's graduation party. It's really hard for me to believe that our little Spencer Doodle has graduated and is going off to college in the fall. Tom is really going to miss Spencer. But don't worry about Tom, he has already adopted Spencers friend Daniel as Spencer #2. =)

And then finally, we left the party and went to visit with Jen and the kids at her mom's house. They made a quick trip over and we weren't going to let them come over with out us getting to see them. We went out for ice cream and as always we enjoyed their company and it wasn't nearly long enough. We skipped out on church on Sunday so that we could go have bagels and coffee with them before they headed back over the mountain and then we went home and crashed! It was a busy weekend but we had fun.

Rice Cereal

I told you I'd be back with pictures of the first rice cereal attempt and here they are. For some reason I had it in my head that I needed to wait until Emmie was 6 months old to start her on rice cereal. I looked in Hannah's scrapbook to see how old she was and to my dismay I saw that we started her at 4 months, yikes! So, not wanting to leave Emerson out on the fun we decided to get her started. We were all very excited for her and I think she was even a little excited too. Emerson really wasn't sure as to what to do with it. She kept giving us a look of "are you sure this is OK mom?". It didn't take long for her to decide that maybe just maybe she didn't care for it. We all got a good laugh out of her facial expressions and the little shiver her whole body did after a few bites. I can already tell that I'm not going to have the luck I did with Hannah - Hannah was and is such a good eater. Something tells me that I might have a few more protests with this one. =)

Memorial day...?

It seems silly for me to post about Memorial Day weekend when it was so long ago. We had a good weekend and a yummy BBQ on Monday that even included homemade french fries! Delicious!!!! The rest of the details were lost in the yummy-ness of the fries. =) Here are a few pictures from that weekend.

We've been taking care of two sick little girls the last few weeks. Hannah is almost over her cold - she's had that for almost 3 weeks, and little Miss Emmie - well, I took her to the Dr yesterday and she has fluid in her one ear and a mild ear infection. I was really hoping to escape the ear infection curse with her. Hannah had her first ear infection at 3months - at least with Emerson we made it to 5 1/2 months. The Dr gave me a prescription but asked that I hold off on filling it. She wanted me to fill it only if she seems to get worse, because (and I didn't know this) most ear infections will clear themselves up without antibiotics. That's fine with me, I'm not so big on antibiotics and babies anyway. So we're keeping our fingers crossed and saying lots of prayers.

It seems we've got another busy weekend ahead of us. Tomorrow morning Tom and I are headed down to Seattle to tour one of the new cruise ships. (one of the ladies in his BNI group is a travel agent and is hosting a tour) I think Tom is hoping that it'll change my mind about a cruise...we shall see. After that we're headed to Spencers graduation party and then over to visit with Jen and the kids at her moms house. Should be a busy day but lots of fun. I'll be back with pictures soon. I was just looking to add a few pictures of the girls and realized that I forgot to post about Emerson's first food experience...I'll be back this weekend with that update. Stay tuned for that thrilling post...=)

Grammy Na came and spent the weekend with us and Hannah was her shadow. The two of them had lots of fun.
