Jail Update

Tom successfully made it out of “jail” yesterday and he raised over $1200.  I am so proud of him!!

I am sad to report that this is the only picture I have of him and the jail experience.  I’m not sure what I was expecting, well that’s not true.  I know exactly what I was expecting.  I was expecting a paddy wagon to pick him up.  I was expecting him to be put in fake handcuffs and fake arrested.  I was expecting him to be totally embarrassed.  I was expecting him to sit behind bars while he made phone calls.  What actually happened was this:  an Army recruiter picked him up at the office in a normal car.  No big production what so ever, which made me feel silly for having my camera there.  I don’t think the recruiter would have appreciated me making him pretend to arrest Tom.  He didn’t seem hip like that.  :)  At the restaurant, Tom sat at a table by himself, making phone calls and sending texts, and then he ate and went back to work.

It was a little anti-climactic for me.  I guess I shouldn’t have expected so much.  :)  I did get to have a nice lunch with my mom and Emerson, so I guess it wasn’t a total waste….oh and Tom did raise over $1200 for a good cause.  Woot-Woot!

The Pumpkin Farm

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch.  Not for pumpkins, but for pictures.  There were so many people at the pumpkin patch that I was surprised there were any pumpkins left when we left.  I have never seen so many people at a pumpkin patch.  It was INSANE!

Brittany & Caitlin showed up for a little while.  Love those girls!Pumkins (2)Pumkins (1)Heather and Ethan showed up for some pictures as well.  Isn’t he just the cutest!  Such a serious little guy.  :)Pumkins (3) Emmie was feeling a little left out of the pictures, so she laid down and posed for me.  Such a ham.Pumkins (4) I don’t remember what she was doing, but I’m certain she was cracking us up.Pumkins (6) As we were heading back to the car, the crowds were gone so we took the opportunity to get a few pumpkin pictures.  The only problem was that the girls were pictured out.  Pumkins (7) Pumkins (8) Pumkins (10) Pumkins (11)We got a few “fall” pictures so now we’ll stick with tradition and get our pumpkins from Haggens.  I have a feeling Tom’s pumpkins won’t all be orange in a week.  :)

Soccer…again.

I was looking through my pictures last night and realized that I have taken almost no pictures this month.  I wish that it was because we haven’t been busy, but it’s more like we’ve been busy, but only with boring things.  :)  The only pictures I have to share are from soccer this last Saturday.  It rained…a little. (HA!)  We really have no room to complain about the weather because up until Saturday we’ve had wonderful soccer weather.  Hannah wasn’t too excited to play in the rain but that quickly changed once she was all wet.  :)  I’m really annoyed with myself because 1. I didn’t have my big camera because of the rain and 2. I had the old camera with video and I didn’t get any of Hannah’s goals on video.  She made 3!  One was perfect in her fathers eyes.  She stopped the ball, kicked it behind her, turned and took it straight into the goal.  I think he might have even shed a little tear, he was SO proud of her.Rain (1)After the first goal.  Excuse the blurry photo, but you can still see her proud face.Rain (11)This picture makes me laugh.  This is a typical scene at her games.  All three of the girls on the field fighting for the ball. I actually think this is when they were defending the goal, so it’s ok, I guess.  :)Rain (3) Going for the goal!Rain (4)The highlight of Hannah’s soccer games for Emerson is getting “nacks” from the snack shed.  Today she found “mo suckers” which are really ring pops.  She was a happy girl.  Rain (7)Our game was the last one of the day and I had to laugh because as we were all packing up the rain stopped and a patch of blue sky appeared.  :)  Rain and all, it was a good day!

Sorry for the lack of video Nana…next week, I promise.

Sunday at the Farm

Last Sunday we went to a BBQ with our neighbors Church at The Farm, in Snohomish.  We totally lucked out on the weather.  I think we were in the only place that didn’t have rain.  It was perfect.Farm (1) Farm (2) The hay barn was fun.  I managed to talk Hannah into jumping, after all she had done it a few years ago when her preschool went.  She finally jumped from the smaller pile.  I decided to show her how it’s done.  I climbed up to the top and made Tom promise not to take a picture.  :)  Holy cow, that was scary and it hurt!   Props to my Hannah for doing it over and over.   Farm (3) A new addition to the Farm was this corn bin…think ball pit only with corn. So fun.Farm (5) Emerson just wasn’t sure what to think of it. Farm (7)Our other neighbors, Tiffany and Aubrey were there as well.  Emerson had fun with her Aubrey.  :)Farm (8)We were finding corn all day long.  Hee heeFarm (11)In the barn they had a hay maze for the little kids.  At the end of the maze there was a slide.  The slide was fast.  So fast that each kid that went down usually ended up doing a hay face plant. Emerson watched and took the cautious route down.  I laughed…she used her feet and hands to slow her down.  She was NOT going to be doing a face plant.Farm (13) The second time down she went a little wild…no feet.Farm (14) The cow train.  They were so excited to ride the cow train…Farm (15) Farm (16) Farm (17) and then they came back…I’m told that Emerson cried the entire trip.  Poor thing.Farm (20) After the cow train, we decided to try the hay ride. A much better experience for Emerson.Farm (22) We were brave and did the corn maze…with 6 kids…there is one extra in the picture that didn’t go with us.  Oh my goodness.  What an experience. We started out in Spokane and had to end up in Grays Harbor.  Farm (24) Someone needed a potty break.  Unlike I-90 there were no rest stops along the route.  Farm (27) Emerson was happy to be the leader.  Telling people where to go and how fast they should go.Farm (29)By the time we got to Grays Harbor we had a few muddy kids and a few relieved parents.  Relieved that we didn’t need to use Leah’s phone as a flashlight. :)Farm (31)

As we were walking out of the maze, Leah made the comment that Tom looked like the guy from Sister Wives…walking through the corn maze with three moms and 6 kids, actually 7 (Eliya was on Leah’s back).  We had such a wonderful time…so glad we went!  Thanks Leah & Daniel for the invite.  :)
