She did it!

She finally did it. It takes her a few tries, so stick with it. Pay no attention to our annoying baby talk or to the lady in the background...it's a Baby Einstein video and I didn't think to turn it off, kinda creepy! Better yet, just turn down your volume. =)

I'm back, but this time with a prayer request. We found out earlier this week that Tom's brother, Rich and his wife Leina, lost their baby. Leina was 26 weeks along and we're not really sure what happened. We saw her last weekend and she looked great and was feeling good. It really was a shock for us. As of now, Leina hasn't delivered the baby, but we are hoping that the acupuncture procedure will start her labor within a few days. Tom and I have spent the last few days in a bit of disbelief. We pray for comfort and peace for their family especially in the coming days.

NO more tax season!!!!

As I was loading my Spokane pictures on to my computer I realized that I forgot to post pictures from our fun day with Tom. In honor of there being no more tax season (insert woo-hoo dance here) Tom got the day off and we took the girls to Seattle. Tom thought it would be fun to take Hannah to the Pacific Science Center. She is still a little too young to fully appreciate all there is but we still had a fun time. Our walk through the Dinosaur exhibit was pretty quick. As I tried to take the picture of her standing in the Dino footprint, she was keeping her eyes on the dinosaur behind me - she was sure that it was going to eat me. It was pretty funny. The butterfly exhibit was a hit. We couldn't take the stroller in, so Tom and Emerson explored the insect (yuck) section. Hannah was very careful to not step on any of the beautiful butterflies. She got a kick out of watching them eat their lunch of bananas and oranges. She kept yelling how much she liked oranges too! She's not a quiet girl. We did the rest of the exhibits pretty quickly, spending the majority of our time in the Exploring Trees inside and out section. There was a tree house that Hannah had fun climbing in while I fed Emerson. It was nice going mid-week, there was only one school group there and only a handful of other families there. I think we'll wait a few years before taking them back, but we had a good time spending our day with daddy. It was nice to have him with us for more than a few hours. =)

Watch out Mom he's gonna get youuuu~

Lunchtime for the butterflies

This is how Emerson enjoyed the PSC

Hope you're all having a great week. I'll be back soon with pictures from our Spokane trip. =) Emerson goes in today for her 4 month check-up...any bets on how much she weighs???

Dr Mike

Hannah had her first visit to the dentist on Thursday. We've been talking about going to see Dr. Mike since we made the appointment back in January. We talked about how Dr Mike is a grandpa, kind of like her Papa's, we talked about how one of the nice ladies that works there would clean her teeth using a spin toothbrush and then how Dr Mike would come in and check out her teeth. Hannah does pretty good as long as she knows what's coming and what is expected of her. So, I was a little surprised on Thursday morning when she woke up and told me that she didn't want to go to the dentist. A little more surprised when she wouldn't get out of the car and even more surprised when she wouldn't even come inside the building. It made me laugh - where on earth did she get the idea of being afraid of the dentist! She had been SO excited to go and to meet Dr Mike. I think the only reason she went back with the hygienist was in part because of the little boy that was coming out as we were waiting. He had a sucker AND a piece of gum. I told Hannah that she could have a piece of gum or a sucker if she did good for Dr Mike. We talked to the little boy and he told Hannah that it wasn't scary and he even got $3. Her eyes lit up and she pretty much skipped back with the hygienist. She did so good, following all of the instructions she was given - did the fluoride treatment without complaining. I was so proud of her. Dr Mike came in and she was all smiles. He told her she had beautiful curls, beautiful teeth, nice spacing and NO cavities. I was a bit shocked - but oh so proud. I had my appointment after Hannah's and Cathy (Dr Mikes wife) was so nice she let Hannah help her with the x-ray films. She's quite the helper and Cathy got a kick out of it. They took my films back to be developed and Hannah stayed there waiting for them to come out and then promptly brought them to Cathy. I had Cathy on one side cleaning my teeth and Hannah on the other observing every move that Cathy made. It was pretty funny. Cathy commented as Hannah was fluttering in between the different stations that she was certainly having a good time at the dentist! She walked out of there with a piece of gum and a sucker. We were in the car heading back to my moms when she commented on how she didn't get and money. I had to tell her that the little boy had to have extra work done and Dr Mike gave him the money for sitting still. =)
Pictures are from my phone so the quality isn't that great.

And...I couldn't have a post without including a picture of our wee one. =)

She loves her fingers!

She is SO close to rolling over. I'm secretly happy that she hasn't yet - once that happens things get a bit more challenging around here. =)

Roller Girl

We went to the Skating party with our church earlier this week and boy was that fun. It was fun to go back to the place where I attended so many school skating parties. It really hasn't changed other than the outside paint color. =) I had to laugh when we did all the same things (hokey pokey, chicken dance and races) that I remember doing as a kid. It has not changed. Crazy. Hannah was so excited to go. It was all she could talk about that morning. She couldn't even eat her dinner, she was SO excited. The three of us (mom came along to hold Emerson) went around twice holding hands and then she wanted nothing to do with us. We were seriously cramping her style! When we first got there my mom and I warned her that she would probably fall and that it was ok to fall. It didn't hurt that there were kids falling left and right, so she could see that it really was OK to fall. So, when she did fall it was cute, she'd look up at us and say "that's OK, Nonnie said it was OK to fall". Hannah did really well - she didn't fall all that much. She did more pretend falling than real falling. Tom and I were both so proud of her. As of this moment, Hannah has decided that she wants to go roller skating for her birthday in September. We shall see.

This first video cracks me up. You can see Hannah pushing away Tom's hand. =)

Here she is, skating away. You can see who the boss of our family is. =) I especially like the "mom" at the end. I think she's finally tired of always having the camera on her.

And finally, I'll leave you with the early evidence of Emerson and the famous "Walker tongue".

2 posts in 1 week - shocking I know!!!
