Update

I figure I better post something while I have a few minutes. We’ve had an interesting week to say the least. Emerson is sick and I think Hannah’s following her sister’s lead. Emmie has had a little cough that’s turned into a nasty cough. I took her to the walk-in clinic on Thursday after a sleepless night. She was tossing, coughing, gagging and fighting a fever all night long. I’m not sure that anyone got any sleep that night. With all her coughing and gagging I spent most of the night just watching her...making sure she was breathing. I took her in and the doctor checked her pretty thoroughly and said that it was a just virus and that it would probably take her 2 weeks to get over it. Are you kidding me? 2 weeks of this and he couldn’t give me anything for her horrible cough. Ugh. I’m not sure she’s doing any better today. She didn’t sleep much last night and Hannah started coughing today so I’m really looking forward to tonight. =) My wonderful sister brought me some goodies today. You should have seen her face when she saw how sick the girls were. I think if I had a bubble big enough she would have climbed in before entering our house. I don’t think she really wanted to come in. I’m hoping that the girls make a turn for the better tomorrow so we can go over to Beck & Rob’s house for the big game on Sunday. We girls have a plan to scrapbook while the boys watch the game...and the kids. =)

Hope you have a great weekend!

The Children's Museum

We had a fun day at the Children’s museum on Friday. My mom was nice and came along to help out...I mean...to join in on the fun. Emerson loved it just about as much as Hannah did on her first visit. All the fun things to see and touch! I think she was most excited that she didn’t get in trouble for touching things. Hannah is at the perfect age for the museum. She’s had fun before but this time it was different. She enjoyed all the “stations” and really got into the whole pretend thing. I think I heard her say that the Veterinarian office was by far her favorite. Both girls enjoyed the Fire House. It was geared more for the 3 and under crowd but Hannah had fun showing her sister how to slide. It was Emerson’s first trip down a slide by herself and from the picture you can see what she thought of that. I laugh every time I look at that picture. Hannah got on there with her and they slid down together and I think Emerson enjoyed that a little more than going by herself. I have a feeling we’ll be making a few more trips back before the end of tax season.

Dr. Hannah checking on my pet eagle's prescription.Emerson wasn't too sure about the wooden bridge...but she had to see where all the big kids were going.Emerson in the glow in the dark room. Kind of creepy.A pretty cool dad was there helping the kids build a fort. He lifted a few girls in and continued to build around them. Hannah thought that was pretty cool...almost as cool as kicking herself out.Going up the slide. And down she goes! This was how she went down after that. Slide forward a few seconds and then quick turn around!Sliding with your big sister is WAY more fun!
I'll leave you with a Hannah story...Today after church she very excitedly told me that SHE got to pray on stage...with the microphone. She was so excited that she got picked. I would have loved to hear her prayer because the last few prayers at home have gone like this...dear Jesus thank you for our day...I pray that our computer runs faster so that my games will load faster and another one went...Dear Jesus thank you for our day...I pray that it gets warmer outside so that all the girls can wear their dresses outside in the warmness. =)

Thursday...

Emerson seems to be healing quite nicely. I had to take her to the doctor the day after the fall because she woke up with pink eye. Always fun. It’s not very bad and she doesn’t seem to mind the ointment too much. I think the fact that I clean Hannah’s ears (earrings) 3 times a day has helped...I just tell her I need to clean her ears. I dab a wet q-tip on each of her ears and then she lets me put ointment all over her face. She’s such a character. She did add another mark to her forehead today. She fell on to a book. I think I might actually need a helmet for this one. We said that about Hannah but Emerson seems to fall/hit her head more than her big sister did.

I’m thinking I might be brave and take the girls to the Children’s Museum tomorrow. We’ve got a mild case of cabin fever growing. It’s nice outside, just so darn cold and once I let Emmie out, she doesn’t like to come in. She puts up a good fight and I figure the neighbors might start to get suspicious if they look at her face. =) Well that’s all from our house for today. I’m going to take the girls up and put them down for their naps. Happy Thursday!
Seriously...would you look at that mop on her head. =)

Speaking of mops...not quite a mop, but this is what happened when I took off Emerson's hat a few weeks ago at dinner. CrAzY!

Emmie's boo boo

Emerson took a pretty nasty fall today while she was at my mom's house. I was at work when my mom sent me this text "Went for walk emmie fell bloody nose bump on forehead nose still bleeding but more clear and she keeps rubbing her nose dad here and is holding her seems to have stopped hannah is being a good big sister". I quickly gave her a call and she said she was doing better and that she had stopped crying. When I got to her house Emerson greeted me at the door with a big smile and she hit her head with her hand (that, along with a raspberry is how she greets people) and I knew she was ok. She seems to be doing good tonight and not too bothered by the bump on her forehead or the scratches on her nose. The first picture is when we first got home while she was napping, once we gave her a bath and got her cleaned up it didn't look so bad.

Big sister was worried all night for her. Nothing like a bath to make everyone feel better. She's got some curls going...Looking better already.

Weekend recap

Just thought I would post real quick before heading to bed. We had a nice weekend. I hate tax season weekends because they just seem to go too quickly. Saturday my sister and her kids came over to "cheer me up", funny...I didn't know I was down. =) No, it was really nice of her. She brought all the makings for spaghetti, chips & dip and some goodies. It's always nice when they come over to spend time with us. Hannah had lots of fun playing with Jake & Madi and poor little Emerson kept trying to keep up with them. She did a pretty good job, though, she wasn't more than a few steps behind them all day. Beck & I read magazines, snacked and played a little Wii. I think we were all a little exhausted by the time Tom finally came home. I fixed myself some cereal for dinner and he and the girls had egg salad sandwiches. Gourmet, I know.

Today we finally made it back to church. It's been since before Christmas that we've made it there. Bad, bad, bad, but we did have snow/ice, illnesses and we've been away at least one weekend. I know...excuses, excuses. After church we went to Starbucks, Costco, my parents (Emmie needed a diaper change), the car wash and then back home. Then....we cleaned out the garage, took a trunk full of bags to the Goodwill, made a quick trip to Target, Haggens to get a movie and then back home, this time for good. It was a busy Sunday but it was nice just to be together. The beautiful sunshine didn't hurt either. I'm sad that tomorrow is the start of a new week. But I guess if they didn't keep coming, tax season would never end. =) I'll leave you with a few pictures from the girls playing outside.

This car is quickly becoming one of Emerson's favorites. She LOVES the car. Do you like the hair-do she's sporting. I couldn't tame that for the life of me.

I tried to "capture" Hannah playing but I kept getting these posed smiles. =) What a character.I hope you all have a wonderful week. Hugs to you all.

Tax season is here.

I don't have much of anything to post but the girls are both sleeping so I figured I'd at least say something. It looks as though tomorrow is the beginning of tax season. I always say it starts on Tom's first Saturday, but he thinks it starts sooner than that. =) It seems like it just ended. How can it possibly be here again?!? It'll be an interesting tax season with both of us working. In order for me to get my hours in I get up at 5 and work until Tom leaves at 7 and then try to work another 2 hours once he gets home and after we've had dinner. I'll continue to go to Redmond once a week which I think will help with Tom being gone 6 days a week. The main goal is to remember to be thankful for his job. I tend to be a little less enthusiastic as the season goes along. =)
Tonight we (Tom & I) are off to what I think is the last holiday party of the season. Tom's BNI group is getting together for a potluck dinner at one of the guys' house. Should be...interesting. If nothing else it'll be like a "date" for Tom and I. =) Well my quiet time is up, I can hear Emerson stirring. Here are some pictures from this morning.

Mom...she's putting the flashlight in her mouth...I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Hannah's pictures

I finally loaded Hannah's pictures onto the computer. I am MOST saddened by the fact that somehow all of her pictures from the Ocean were deleted. So here is what I found today, minus all the floor shots. =) I'll let Hannah take it from here...she'll be a guest blogger.
Papa took this silly picture of me. I'm eating a poptart that Camille shared with me.

I like this picture because I took it outside. It's so cute.Aunt Susie came to visit us at Nonnies. The bird feeder at Nonnies house. I think there is a bird eating at the top.Grammy Na.Emerson likes my camera.Mommy took this picture of pirate nonnie.Crazy Papa Larry. He was playing with Emerson.Mommy added these crazy eyes to my picture. I love this picture with the googley eyes.I love my mommy...and my daddy.I took this picture of the flowers outside at Fred Meyers. It was cold.I don't really know what this is but I love ice. I don't like this picture. I won't put this picture on here anymore. And there you have it...the pictures according to Hannah. I tried to get her to say something more but she was tired of standing. It's tough being 4.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to take a picture of today for my project 365. Not a good sign considering I'm only on day 15. Imagine what it'll be like on day 200. Yikes! I better get thinking!

A new toy

I've been eyeing a camera at Costco & Target for a really long time now. I love my current camera don't get me wrong but there were just some things that I wanted it to do that it couldn't. We happened to be on Costco.com one day before Christmas and saw that "my camera" was on sale and not just on sale but it came with an extra lens. The special ran through the middle of this month but I thought that it ended on the 1st of January so when I saw it was still there after the first, I asked Tom (fully knowing that he'd say no) if there was any way we could swing it and he looked at me and said "I can't keep a secret". Apparently, on New Years Eve he was talking to Rob about it and Rob said it was a pretty good deal, so Tom jumped on their computer (thinking the sale ended at midnight) and ordered it for me. He was going to surprise me this last weekend with it but couldn't keep it from me. Talk about excitement. I've been checking Costco's website everyday since I found out and it FINALLY got here today. I was most annoyed that it was in Portland last Friday and even more annoyed when it took 9 hours to get from Seattle to Everett due to "adverse weather conditions". I could have understood that last week with the flooding but seriously, I don't even think it rained yesterday. Tom sent me this text this morning.

I was ready to pull Hannah out of school early, but I didn't, but I do think I was the first parent at pick up. We came home after a quick lunch with Tom and I quickly realized the scope of it's fanciness and I'm totally OVERWHELMED with it. Tom assures me that I'll get it and it'll take some time and suggested that I go hang out with Rob one day. I might have to do that - there's no better way to learn right?
Isn't it pur-dy?!?

The last Christmas of the season.

We had a nice Christmas celebration this last weekend in Ocean Shores. We decided to drive down early Saturday morning rather than get stuck in Friday night traffic. Tom got off work late so it would have been close to 7:30 or 8 by the time we got out of here and that would have made for a really LONG night. So instead, we got up at 5 and were out of the house by 6:30 and down there by 10. Jakob had been waiting for Hannah to get there and was excited to see her and show her all the presents. We opened presents and the big hit of the day was definitely the kids' cameras. They were both pretty cute with them. There are so many fun things they can do with them too. Emerson got a fun toy from Aunt Kim that she got pretty excited for but really could have cared less about the gifts. She just walked from person to person checking things out. I think she was looking for food to tell you the truth.

Overall, it was a pretty lazy weekend. Other than taking the kids to the community center to swim and celebrating Kevin's birthday, we really didn't do much but then again we weren't there long. The rain on Saturday was something else. It was very reminiscent of Kim's wedding, sheets and sheets of rain that didn't seem like they were ever going to stop. It let up a bit on Sunday so everyone went to the beach Sunday morning. I stayed back with Emerson who, I don't think was feeling very good - we had another long night of no sleep. I'm thinking she might be teething. Yay me!

We said smile and this is what we got.Can you hear Emerson saying "save me, please"?The one present she did open, from Aunt Kim.The Camera!Showing Daddy her pictures. Later on in the day I overheard her say, after she had taken a picture of Jakob, "oh, this is a good one".We got Jakob a Nerf dart gun set. We all had fun with that one!Hannah and Jakob helped Aunt Kim frost the cake. Not sure Jake's knife actually ever made it to the cake (but really that's ok, that would have been gross). I love the frosting hanging off his nose.Happy Birthday Kevin! Can you tell which side of the cake Hannah frosted and which side Jakob frosted?Grandpa & Grandma with the kiddos. I'm looking forward to the day when all eyes will at least be looking in the same direction. =)Ahh...brotherly bonding time. =)

Once I get Hannah's pictures loaded to the computer I'll be back to share. Happy Monday!
