Emmie…

I got a phone call from my dad today.  It was hard to understand him through his laughter, but here’s a recap from his morning.

Emmie and Nonnie ( Grandma Bonnie) came into my bedroom and at bedside Emmie announced , in a loud voice 'Cocka doodle Doo".

After a few more interchanges of "Cocka doodle DOO".

I went down stairs to fix my coffee.

Then Emmie from the top of the stairs, hollered 'Cocka doodle DOO".

I went to the bottom of the stairs and a said 'Cocka doodle DON'T".

Emmie turned and headed toward Nonnie and said

"Nonnie, we got the word screwed up"

Thanks Dad, for the email!  :)  I’m glad she brought some funny to your morning!

Green Eggs & Ham

The school had their 17th annual Green Eggs and Ham day  almost two weeks ago.  The girls and I went.  We tried to talk Tom in to going to work a little late, but he “claims” he was too busy.  I think he was just scared of the green eggs.  :)

Along with the breakfast, it was also book character dress up day.  As of 7:00 that morning Hannah didn’t know who she was going to go as.  We were busy the few nights before hand so we didn’t get a chance to put a whole lot of time or thought in to it.  As Tom was getting ready to head out the door, he had a moment of brilliance (shh don’t tell him I said that) when he said she should go as Pinkalicious.  It was perfect and we had everything we needed which was even better!

Pinkalicious, her friend Little Bo Peep and EmmieGE&H (1)Taking a bite…GE&H (2)Taking a bite with her sister.  I wasn’t fast enough for Emmie.  She threw her fork down pretty quick.  I tried them as well, and they weren’t all that bad once you got past the part of them being green.  By far the best part of the breakfast is the cinnamon rolls.  Oh those are good.  Tom missed out for sure!GE&H (3)Pinkalicious and Mrs. Ogden.GE&H (5)

And, yes.  We even straightened Hannah’s hair.  I had to laugh at how many times that day I was told that someone didn’t recognize her without her curls.  :)

Tom’s 35th

Poor Tom, his 35th birthday came and went without any sort of big celebration, just a bunch of little ones.  It doesn’t help that his birthday falls smack dab in the middle of tax season!  He lucked out this year in that he didn’t actually have to work on his birthday since it fell on a Sunday. Yay!

Tom’s birthday wish was to go to a hockey game and we did just that on Saturday night. :)  We originally planned to go to the game with Judy, Kevin, my dad and the girls, but right as we were heading out the door we noticed that Emmie was running a fever and in no shape to go to the game.  Grandma and Grandpa insisted on staying home with her so that we could still go to the game.  We ended up having 3 extra tickets that we couldn’t get rid of, but that was ok.  I even tried to give the tickets away via Facebook, but had no takers.  Could have been the fact that I posted it 10 minutes before the game started and we were in the midst of a freak snow storm.  As it turns out, because of that freak snow storm we were late to the game and missed the first goal.

Hockey (1)Happy to be at a hockey game…Hockey (2)Too much soda at the hockey game…Hockey (3)Sad faces…the Silvertips lost in the last 3 minutes…bummer!Hockey (4)

Emerson was running a fever almost all day on Sunday which meant that we didn’t do much.  Other than running to the store and Target, we pretty much stayed on the couch.  I’m quite confident that Tom was ok with that.  It had been a long week.

I totally thought I had some “boy” wrapping paper.  Turns out I was remembering baby boy wrapping paper.  Poor Tom.  Surrounded by pink and princesses.  :) Tom (2)Nothing like being called crazy by your daughter on your birthday.  :)Tom (6)Tom wasn’t too sure what to think of Hannah reading my lovey dovey birthday card to him.  Can’t stop her – she’s a reader!Tom (7)

Monday night we went to my parents house for cake and ice cream with the family.  This picture makes me laugh.  Good ol’ Dave having a little fun with Tom.  He didn’t actually push him, I just got lucky with the timing of my picture.Tom (13)Someone found some “boy” wrapping paper…a tool box, beer and peanut butter cups.  Who needs wrapping paper.  :)Tom (16)Tom (12)Happy 35th birthday sweetie!  I hope you enjoyed your birthday weekend.  I hope this year is one of your best!  I love you!

Snow Day #2

Here we go again…I wasn’t expecting so much snow today.  I thought it was all supposed to fall yesterday.  Weathermen! Sheesh.Snow Day 2 (1)It looked like a winter wonderland when we woke up.  So pretty.Snow Day 2 (4)Tom stayed at home for a few hours, waiting for the roads to clear a bit.  I laughed SO hard when I looked over and saw him using the girls’ cash register as his calculator.  Two monster drinks, the cash register and someone’s taxes…Oh dear.Snow Day 2 (7)Eating more snow off the door.Snow Day 2 (8)Snow Day 2 (9)Snow Day 2 (11)More snow angel sisters.  Emmie insisted on laying right next to Hannah. :)Snow Day 2 (13)Snow Day 2 (14)

Snow Day

*I started this last week, just forgot to post it*

The girls got up this morning (2/23) and were quick to want to go out and play.  I insisted that they at least have breakfast before going out.  One of them wasn’t too happy about that. :)

Emerson was excited to make a snow angel.  She’s my little snow angel.  :)IMG_2736Hannah wanted to make a snowman.  She gave Emerson instructions on how big to roll the head and “she’d take care of the rest”.  Such a big sister!IMG_2737I went inside to look for the makings for it’s face….blueberry eyes, cheese puff for a nose, red fruit loops for a mouth.  Emerson was in charge of the eyes.  Somehow the eyes didn’t stay on the snowman.IMG_2739Neither did it’s head.  It kept falling off.IMG_2741They made it a little bigger.IMG_2742And it stayed on for the picture below, then it fell off and Emerson stomped on it.  That was the end of our snowman.IMG_2743They came back in for a while and then when Tom came home, they got their snow gloves out of the car and went out again.IMG_2748Seriously, she must have made 100 snow angels.IMG_2751Tom told the girls (not really sure why he thought it was a good idea but who am I…apparently the no fun parent) to throw the snowballs at the door.  They got a kick out of that but what I found even funnier was Emerson.  She was trying to eat the snow off the door.  The last picture might be one of my all time favorites! Makes me laugh EVERY time I look at it!  IMG_2753IMG_2754

Oh Emerson!!
