Dancing Emerson

I've been told that I haven't posted anything new in a while and I'm not one to disappoint so here I am. I don't really have anything to post so I thought I'd share a little video clip from Friday night. Emerson has developed her own dance moves and she loves to show them off. You'll have to forgive me and my laughing she was seriously cracking us up. And I really, really apologize for the snort. :) And, just so you don't think I've forgotten about Hannah, here is a picture of her from twin day.

Twin day, you say, but where is her twin? Oh, bad mom here didn't take her camera and only had her phone. I took a picture of Mr. Kusler and his twin, SuperBee (actually JJ took it for me) but I didn't even think to have Hannah and Hanna stand together for a quick picture before school. Bad, bad, bad mom. Any-hoozle back to the reason for the post. Enjoy the video and again I apologize for the laughing/snorting and the MESSY house. :)

Cookie Baking Weekend

Last weekend was our cookie baking weekend at the beach house. We didn't bake as much as I thought we would, but we still did really well. Tom tried to make his famous toffee, but there was just too much moisture in the air for it to get to the right consistency. We made two batches of sugar cookies, but since you can never have too many of those tasty treats, we'll have to make more here at home. All in all it was a great weekend and we've got a freezer full of cookies. Well not totally full...we've gotten into a few of them, and Hannah can't seem to stay away from the fudge. So, here is our weekend in pictures. You'll notice that there aren't many beach pictures, that's because we were only there a few minutes to watch Kevin & Judy clam. It was just too cold and wet to be out there!

We woke up to this cutie outside our window. There was another but my daughters banging on the windows scared it away. :)Tom woke and went quickly to work. He wasted NO time. You don't mess with his cookies.

Hannah worked hard on this puzzle and Emerson quickly took it apart. Just like a little sister, isn't it? :)

After breakfast, Aunt Kim took Hannah for a little pampering. Her very first pedicure! The toes, which I neglected to take a picture of, alternated sparkly pink and sparkly purple. SO very pretty!
While the girls were getting pampered we headed to the beach for a little clam digging. Kevin & Judy were the only ones digging, but we had fun watching...for about 10 minutes, then it got really cold!
There were SO many people there...one giant line along the waters edge.

We took a little break from all the baking for a little swim time. That girl and her tongue...
The weather was perfect cookie baking weather, rainy and WINDY!
Sunday night, Judy fixed a wonderful, early Thanksgiving dinner. Oh, it was fantastic!After our delicious dinner, Grandma Judy surprised (spoiled) the girls...Hannah and Emmie got cute new dresses and Aunt Kim got a new "New Moon" t-shirt.

The dinner was a great way to end our weekend. Although, we did have to stop at Starbucks on the way home so that we'd stay awake...you know what that turkey can do to a person. :) Hope you're all having a wonderful week!

Texture with JJ

Hannah's friend Jacob has a pretty cool mom and her name is JJ. JJ invited us over to their house last week for arts & crafts. Hannah was super excited to go to Jacobs house and even more excited when she found out she was going to get to paint. See...she's cool...she lets her kids paint. I tend to avoid paint and the mess it brings. :) JJ drew turkeys for each of the kids and they got to decorate them. She taught them about texture and showed them what they could do with different paint brushes, forks and knives (no worries...they were plastic). She also had steel cut oats, chickpeas and corn to add to the pictures. She put me to shame, I tell you!

Halloween night

Happy Halloween! We spent our night in Monroe at the Henry house. We've been going out to Monroe for for as long as Becky & Rob have been married. That's crazy to think about...Sue's kids, the only kids, all little and all dressed up...ahhh, the memories! I digress. Rob made his famous Chili, Susie brought spaghetti, and we brought meatballs. What a combo! Not to mention the Rotel and all the yummy goodies. Oh...I'm feeling a little ill just thinking back on it.

I was surprised with how much Emerson enjoyed the trick or treating...with all the spooky houses out there and all. She did just fine, maybe the Fred Meyer witch incident actually worked out to be a good thing. :)

Can I tell you that we must have taken 100+ pictures and we still didn't get a good one of the kids. :)Emerson did NOT like Brittany's scary mask!

I do have to say that we had the cutest Sleeping Beauty and Minnie Mouse out there! Seriously SO cute! Now, to get rid of that candy without the girls noticing! :)

Pumpkin Carving Night #2

There is nothing like waiting until the day before Halloween to carve pumpkins. I'm not much into carving pumpkins it's definitely more Tom's thing. He let the girls wash their pumpkins, which to my surprise didn't cover my floor with water. Emerson got a big kick out of being able to help.

Tom brought home cupcakes from work. Emerson was more interested in the banana. Whose kid is she anyway?!

That's more like it. Apparently I missed a seed.

She wasn't as afraid of the "guts" this time around. She actually thought it was pretty fun to play with.Cheese! Errr...Pumpkins!Hannah had a hard time deciding what kind of face to create. We had her draw it out and then her daddy helped her carve it.The finished product. Hannah's is on the bottom step, then Emerson's then mine. I cut open the top and that's as far as I got. Shame on me!

I was so excited about the seeds from these pretty pumpkins. Unfortunately, for me I put them in a 375 degree oven instead of a 300 degree. The house was smelling SO good and I was just waiting and waiting for them to get done. I think I actually shed a few tears for those darn seeds as I through them out. Boo for me!
